1. Who we are
ZenSMS GH ("ZenSMS", "we", "us") provides a bulk SMS service to businesses and organisations in Ghana. We operate from Accra, Ghana, and can be reached at support@zensmsgh.com or on WhatsApp at 055 979 3040.
We deliver messages through a licensed Ghanaian SMS aggregator, which in turn passes them to the mobile networks — MTN, Telecel and AT.
2. Who is responsible for what
This distinction matters, so we state it plainly:
- Your account details — the business name, email address and phone number you give us when you sign up — are held and used by us to run your account, as described below.
- The contact lists you upload — the phone numbers and names of the people you message — remain yours, and we only act on your instructions. We do not decide who gets messaged, we do not use your contacts for our own purposes, and we never message them on our own behalf.
If you received a message from a business through our platform and want your details removed, contact that business directly — the list is theirs. You can also write to us and we will pass the request on and help where we can.
3. What we collect
Account information
Your name, business name, email address, phone number and password (stored hashed, never in readable form). If you request a sender ID, we collect the brand name and any supporting documents the regulator requires.
Contact data you upload
Recipient phone numbers, and any names or other fields you add for personalisation. This is stored in your account and visible only to your account.
Message content and delivery records
The text of the campaigns you send, and the delivery record for each message — status (delivered, pending, failed), timestamp, network, and the number of segments charged. We keep these so you can see your reports, so we can bill accurately, and so we can resolve disputes with networks.
Payment information
Payments are handled by our payment provider. We receive confirmation of the amount, the date and a reference — we do not see or store full card numbers or your Mobile Money PIN.
Technical data
When you use the platform we log standard technical information such as IP address, browser type and access times, for security and troubleshooting.
4. How we use it
- To provide the service — queueing, sending and reporting on your messages.
- To register and maintain your sender IDs with the regulator.
- To bill you correctly and keep a record of credits purchased and used.
- To provide support when you contact us.
- To detect and prevent fraud, spam and abuse of the platform.
- To meet legal, regulatory and tax obligations.
We do not sell personal data. We do not share your contact lists with other customers, and we do not use them to market anything to anyone.
5. Who we share it with
- Our SMS aggregator and the mobile networks. To deliver a message, the recipient's number, the message text and your sender ID are passed to our aggregator and on to MTN, Telecel or AT. This is unavoidable — it is how an SMS reaches a phone.
- Our payment provider. To take payment and confirm top-ups.
- Regulators and law enforcement. Where we are required by Ghanaian law, or by a lawful request from the National Communications Authority or another authority.
- Service providers who host or maintain the platform, under confidentiality obligations and only as needed to run the service.
6. How long we keep it
- Account data — for as long as your account is open, and for a reasonable period afterwards to meet legal and accounting obligations.
- Contact lists — until you delete them or close your account. Deleting a contact in your account removes it from our active systems.
- Message and delivery records — kept for a limited period to support billing, reporting and dispute resolution, then deleted or anonymised.
- Opt-out records — kept for as long as needed to make sure a person who asked to stop is not messaged again. This is a case where keeping a number is what protects the person.
7. Security
The site and platform are served over HTTPS. Passwords are hashed. Access to customer data is limited to the people who need it to run the service, and each account can only see its own data.
We take security seriously, but no online service can promise perfect security. If a breach ever affects your information, we will tell you promptly.
8. Your choices
You can ask us at any time to:
- tell you what information we hold about you;
- correct anything that is wrong or incomplete;
- delete information where we no longer need it;
- stop using your information for a particular purpose.
Write to support@zensmsgh.com and we will respond.
9. Cookies
This website uses no tracking cookies and no advertising trackers. We do not run analytics on it. The only fonts we load come from Google Fonts.
The customer platform at app.zensmsgh.com uses a session cookie to keep you logged in. That cookie is necessary for the service to work.
10. Children
ZenSMS is a service for businesses and organisations. It is not intended for anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect data from children.
11. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top of this page. Significant changes affecting customers will be communicated by email.
