What you get

Everything you need to send, and to prove it arrived.

Your name as the sender

Messages arrive from YOURBRAND, not an unknown number. We handle the NCA registration that makes it work in Ghana.

Thousands at once

Paste a list or import your contacts. Numbers are cleaned and formatted to +233 automatically, with duplicates removed.

Send now or schedule

Queue a campaign for Monday at 8am and forget it. Useful for fee reminders, payday promos and service announcements.

Proof of delivery

Every message gets its own status from the network — delivered, pending or failed. Not a percentage. The actual list.

Personalised messages

Write Hi {{name}} once and each person gets their own name, balance or due date filled in.

Opt-out list

Anyone who asks to stop goes on your suppression list and is skipped in every future campaign, automatically and permanently.

Who uses it

Built for how Ghanaian businesses actually message.

Six of the most common uses, with the kind of message each one sends.

Schools

"Dear Parent, Term 2 fees are due Friday 20 Feb. Kindly settle at the bursary or on MoMo. — ST MARYS"

Fee reminders, reopening dates, exam results, emergency closures.

Churches & associations

"Sunday service moves to 8:30am this week for the harvest. God bless you. — GRACECHAPEL"

Service changes, meeting reminders, funeral announcements, dues.

Clinics & pharmacies

"Hi Ama, your appointment with Dr Mensah is tomorrow at 10:00. Call 030••• to reschedule. — LIFECARE"

Appointment reminders, prescription-ready alerts, review follow-ups.

Shops & retail

"Kofi, your order #4821 is ready for pickup at our Osu branch until 6pm today. — KOFIMART"

Order updates, new stock, sales, delivery notifications.

Microfinance & fintech

"Your repayment of GHS 150 is due on 28 Feb. Pay via MoMo to 024•••••••. — SIKAPLUS"

Repayment reminders, transaction alerts, account notices.

Events & venues

"Your ticket is confirmed. Gates open 6pm at the Accra Sports Stadium. Show this SMS. — NIGHTLIFE"

Ticket confirmations, gate details, schedule changes, reminders.

How it works

From sign-up to first campaign.

  1. 1

    Create your account

Sign up at app.zensmsgh.com with your business details. It takes a minute and costs nothing.

  2. 2

    Register your sender name

Tell us the name you want on the phone. We submit it to the NCA — approval usually lands within 1–2 business days.

  3. 3

Top up with MoMo or card

Load credit onto your account. You are charged per message sent, and unused credit stays yours.

  4. 4

    Upload contacts and send

Paste your list, write the message, check the cost, send. Delivery reports start arriving within seconds.

Sender IDs & the rules

The part most people get wrong.

In Ghana, the name that shows on a recipient's phone has to be registered with the National Communications Authority before any network will carry it. Unregistered names get blocked, and messages sent from a plain number get ignored. We do this registration for you as part of setting up your account.

  • 11 characters, letters and digits. No spaces or symbols. ST MARYS becomes STMARYS.
  • 1–2 business days for approval, per name. Start it the week before you need it.
  • People can't reply to a sender name — it is send-only. If you want replies, put a WhatsApp or phone number inside the message.
  • Only message people who gave you their number. Networks block senders that generate complaints, and that protects everyone using the platform.

Pricing

Pay per message, in cedis.

No subscription, no monthly commitment. Buy a bundle of credits — the bigger the bundle, the lower your rate per SMS.

Developers

Send from your own system.

If you run a school system, a shop app or a lending platform, you don't need to log in to send. Call the API from your own code and get the same delivery reports back on a webhook. API keys live in your account settings.

Questions

The things people ask before signing up.

Still unsure? Email support@zensmsgh.com and a person will answer.

Will my business name really show instead of a number?

Yes. That name is called a sender ID — up to 11 letters or digits. Once the NCA approves it, every message you send arrives under that name on MTN, Telecel and AT.

Can people reply to my messages?

No. A sender name is send-only, which is how bulk SMS works everywhere, not just here. If you want replies, include a WhatsApp number or phone number in the message text.

Why did one message cost me two?

SMS is billed in segments of 160 characters. Go over that and it becomes two segments. Accented letters and emoji switch the message to a different encoding where a segment is only 70 characters — so a single emoji can double your cost. The composer counts segments as you type so there are no surprises.

How do I pay?

Mobile Money or card. You top up your account balance, and each message sent draws it down. There is no subscription and your credit does not expire.

How long before I can send my first message?

You can sign up and load your contacts immediately. The only wait is sender-name approval from the NCA, normally 1–2 business days.

Do I need permission to message people?

Yes — send only to people who gave you their number for this purpose. Buying a contact list is the fastest way to get complaints, and complaints get sender names blocked. Anyone who asks to stop should go on your opt-out list, which the platform then skips forever.

Who can see my contact list?

Only your account. Contacts and campaigns are kept per account and are not shared with other customers or sold to anyone.

Is there a minimum spend?

No commitment — the smallest bundle is GHS 45 for 1,000 messages, and your credits never expire. Bigger bundles simply carry a cheaper rate per SMS.
